The Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks Department provides activities for people of all ages through recreation centers, parks, greenways, pools, historical sites, golf courses and other facilities. Included in our park system are 82 parks, 27 miles of greenways, 2 lakes, and over 3,800 acres of managed park land.  Guided by the City’s Strategic Plan, our goal is to create, manage, and maintain unique recreational park spaces where citizens can live, work, and play.

Visit Historic Bethabara Park for a guided trail tour to visit the archaeological site of the Bethabara Mill and other historic landmarks in the park.
Bring the family for an up close and personal visit with some of our local creek critters at Southside Branch Library. Cody Orman from Salem Lake will bring several of his friendly critters for a meet and greet.

Rods and bait provided, no license needed, and Salem Lake fishing fees are waived for this event only. Great for new fishers and experienced anglers alike, plus free pizza!

Join the Yadkin Riverkeeper staff at Salem Lake from 5pm to 9pm for a little paddling in the moonlight. Paddlers are encouraged to bring their own boats. Yadkin Riverkeeper will have a limited number of boats if you do not have your own.
