Free Fishing at Salem Lake
March 27 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Have you wanted to fish in Winston-Salem but fees, license requirements, or equipment needs held you back? This event is for you! Come to Salem Lake pier from 5pm-7pm and fish for free.
All equipment and bait for basic fishing will be provided by Forsyth Creek Week, plus free pizza! License requirements will be waived for that location and time, courtesy of NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Fishing fees usually in effect at Salem Lake will also be covered by Forsyth Creek Week. The Wake Forest University Fishing Team will help fishers bait hooks, teach how to cast, and help land and release fish. Other volunteers who know how to fish are welcome (fill out this form to volunteer). Fishing off the pier or in a boat only – no bank fishing allowed. Fishing must end by 7pm.
