DESCRIPTION:The Pill Collection Drop Box is a program for citizens as a convenient and safe way to dispose of unneeded or unwanted pills from their homes. Proper and safe disposal of pills serves to reduce the possibility of accidental or criminal misuse of these drugs as well as providing a safe alternative to disposing of medications in landfills and/or sewer systems. Keeping medicine out of our landfills and sewers keeps our environment and drinking water safer. \n  \nRestrictions: This program is only for pills. No other form of drugs will be accepted. (No liquids\, gels\, sharps\, syringes or aerosol products.) This program is only for households. Pills from businesses\, health care facilities\, long-term care facilities\, pharmaceutical representatives\, pharmacies\, doctor offices and veterinary clinics will not be accepted. \n  \nLocations \n\nPublic Safety Center (725 N. SUMMARY:Forsyth Audubon Bird Walk
DESCRIPTION:Join Forsyth Audubon for our Monday Bird Walk at Winston Lake Park guided by Tim Miller.  All skill levels are welcome.  We will meet at the north end of the park by the pier located at Winston Lake Park 1344\, Winston Park Dr\, Winston-Salem.  Late March is the end of “weird duck season” so we’ll scan the water for any lingering waterfowl. It also is the start of spring migration. The habitat at the lake is perfect for the vanguards of that northward movement\, Louisiana Waterthrush\, Common Yellowthroat\, and various swallow species. We’ll patrol the water’s edge in hopes of scrounging up some “first of springs”. We’ll keep the walk short and flat\, but things may get a bit muddy!

DESCRIPTION:The Eco Expo is a student-centered learning event hosted by Piedmont Environmental Alliance and the City of Winston-Salem Stormwater Division for Forsyth Creek Week. This event combines a traditional science and art fair with guided\, hands-on learning station experiences. All participants will participate in rotating\, expert-led investigation stations focused on earth science topics. Additionally\, students are invited to create and display their own water-related science and art projects in the exhibition hall. Project guidelines can be reviewed here and will be sent with your confirmation email after registration. \n  \nThis full-day event is one you don’t want to miss\, and registration is needed to ensure space for all attendees and projects. Please complete registration by Sunday\, March 15th to secure your space for all attendees in your group and to submit any student project descriptions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

It also accepts electronic waste\, such as computers and televisions\, that are banned from landfills under North Carolina law.
