Russell\, an Army veteran who once swore an oath to protect and serve his country\, now finds his home\, waters\, and forests under threat. He enlists in the battle to defend his community. Russell joins forces with people along the pipeline route\, including Georgia\, an apple farmer in Virginia; Maury\, a retired schoolteacher in West Virginia; and Crystal and Jason\, Indigenous community leaders in North Carolina. DESCRIPTION:Speed will be the name of the game at the Lewisville Branch Library’s Jigsaw Puzzle Contest. Teams will go head-to-head to see who can put their puzzle together the fastest. The victors will win a small prize. Recommended for adults\, teens and tweens. Team registration is required. Game Rules:\n\n 	Register your team (between 2-4 people) by Thursday\, March 19. Registration will open March 1\, 2026 at 9:00am.\n 	Each team will have three hours to complete the same 750-piece puzzle. The first team to finish wins a small prize!\n 	If none of the teams complete their puzzle at the end of three hours\, the team that has the fewest number of puzzle pieces left wins.

SUMMARY:A Walking Guide to the Trees of Old Salem
DESCRIPTION:Take a guided walk through Old Salem and learn to identify native trees while discovering some of their historical uses.\n\nThanks to their extensive root systems\, trees play a critical role in maintaining water quality. Join Adam Tran\, Northwest Piedmont Master Naturalist Volunteer and Extension Master Gardener Volunteer\, for a guided tour of Old Salem’s native trees. He will discuss each tree’s role in the landscape\, key identifying features\, and both historical and modern uses of the Piedmont’s diverse tree species. The tour will follow the scenic Old Salem grounds and the Salem Creek watershed\, highlighting twenty-seven native trees along the way.\n\nPlease wear comfortable walking shoes. All ages are welcome\, though an adult should accompany youth under the age of 16. DESCRIPTION:The Pill Collection Drop Box is a program for citizens as a convenient and safe way to dispose of unneeded or unwanted pills from their homes. Proper and safe disposal of pills serves to reduce the possibility of accidental or criminal misuse of these drugs as well as providing a safe alternative to disposing of medications in landfills and/or sewer systems. Keeping medicine out of our landfills and sewers keeps our environment and drinking water safer. \n  \nRestrictions: This program is only for pills. No other form of drugs will be accepted. (No liquids\, gels\, sharps\, syringes or aerosol products.) This program is only for households. Pills from businesses\, health care facilities\, long-term care facilities\, pharmaceutical representatives\, pharmacies\, doctor offices and veterinary clinics will not be accepted. \n  \nLocations \n\nPublic Safety Center (725 N.
