DESCRIPTION:Join us for a volunteer storm drain marking event! You and your group can pick a neighborhood or be assigned one to help label storm drains and raise awareness that only rain should go down the drain. These simple actions help prevent pollution\, protect our creeks\, and keep our communities beautiful. What’s provided: Safety vests\, drain marker placards and adhesive\, and gloves. What you should bring: Sunscreen\, water bottle\, closed-toed shoes\, and friends! Please sign up for your group (1 slot = 1 group) and list the number of people expected for your group and if you have a preferred neighborhood or area of Kernersville you want to mark. Groups can be any size. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. All participants must sign liability waivers. Please register your group [link released 3 weeks prior to event date].

Frog Walk at Ivey Redmon Park\, 908 Beeson Road\, Kernersville MAP Learn about our local frogs and toads with a walk through the wetlands of Ivey Redmon Park (in the woods behind the playing fields). Led by NC Sierra Club Foothills Group outings leader Henry Fansler and Wendi Hartup\, Kernersville Stormwater Manager\, the frog walks will begin with a brief presentation about what species you may see or hear\, how to identify them and their important role in habitats. A NC toad and frog call app is available at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.johneyboy.frogcalls&hl=en_US&gl=US. Anyone participating in this activity should be prepared for wet\, muddy conditions and dress for the weather. We will meet at the soccer field parking lot. Look for the giant dragonfly sign.
