Join Adam Tran\, Northwest Piedmont Master Naturalist Volunteer and Extension Master Gardener Volunteer\, for a guided tour of Old Salem’s native trees. He will discuss each tree’s role in the landscape\, key identifying features\, and both historical and modern uses of the Piedmont’s diverse tree species. The tour will follow the scenic Old Salem grounds and the Salem Creek watershed\, highlighting twenty-seven native trees along the way.\n\nPlease wear comfortable walking shoes. License requirements will be waived for that location and time\, courtesy of NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Fishing fees usually in effect at Salem Lake will also be covered by Forsyth Creek Week. The Wake Forest University Fishing Club will help fishers bait hooks\, teach how to cast\, and help land and release fish. Fishing off the pier or in a boat only – no bank fishing allowed.
