SUMMARY:Drain Marking Volunteer Event - CANCELED
DESCRIPTION:**EVENT CANCELED – NO REGISTRATIONS ** \n  \nJoin us for a volunteer storm drain marking event! You and your group can pick a neighborhood or be assigned one to help label storm drains\, pick up litter\, and raise awareness that only rain should go down the drain. These simple actions help prevent pollution\, protect our creeks\, and keep our communities beautiful. *EVENT CANCELED* \n  \nWe will meet at the amphitheater at Miller Park (2500 Queen St) at 1pm. Parking is available at the lot off Queen Street. We’ll go through a safety briefing and distribute supplies\, then each group will need to provide their own transportation to their chosen or assigned area. Meet back at the same place between 3pm-4pm to drop off extra materials and trash collected. This event is weather-dependent and will be rescheduled if rain is forecasted for the event time. \n  \nWhat’s provided: Safety vests\, drain marker placards and adhesive\, trash bags\, gloves\, trash pickers (limited)\, extra water\, and light snacks. \nWhat you should bring: Sunscreen\, water bottle\, closed-toed shoes\, and friends! If you have your own trash picker\, please feel free to bring it as we have a limited amount to distribute. \n  \nPlease sign up for your group (1 slot = 1 group) and list the number of people expected for your group and if you have a preferred neighborhood or area of W-S you want to mark. DESCRIPTION:*EVENT FULL* \n  \nHave you wanted to fish in Winston-Salem but fees\, license requirements\, or equipment needs held you back? This event is for you! \n  \nAll equipment and bait for basic fishing will be provided by Forsyth Creek Week\, plus free pizza! License requirements will be waived for that location and time\, courtesy of NC Wildlife Resources Commission. Fishing fees usually in effect at Salem Lake will also be covered by Forsyth Creek Week. The Wake Forest University Fishing Club will help fishers bait hooks\, teach how to cast\, and help land and release fish. Fishing off the pier or in a boat only – no bank fishing allowed. When arriving at Long Creek Park\, we’ll meet at the picnic shelter then take a short walk (0.2 miles) down a paved path and arrive at our event location next to the creek. DESCRIPTION:3RC EnviroStation accepts chemical and other household hazardous waste that should not be disposed of in a landfill. It also accepts electronic waste\, such as computers and televisions\, that are banned from landfills under North Carolina law. Click on the link here to see the types of wastes accepted on the second page. \n  \nThis waste could cause environmental damage or contaminate groundwater if disposed of improperly.  Forsyth County residents may drop off electronic waste and household hazardous waste at the EnviroStation at no charge. Regular trash\, recyclables\, ammunition\, explosives\, radioactive\, medical/infectious waste and e-cigarette waste is not accepted. This is a free service provided to all Forsyth County residents by the City of Winston-Salem Stormwater Division and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Eco Expo is a student-centered learning event hosted by Piedmont Environmental Alliance and the City of Winston-Salem Stormwater Division for Forsyth Creek Week. This event combines a traditional science and art fair with guided\, hands-on learning station experiences. All participants will participate in rotating\, expert-led investigation stations focused on earth science topics. Additionally\, students are invited to create and display their own water-related science and art projects in the exhibition hall. Project guidelines can be reviewed here and will be sent with your confirmation email after registration. \n  \nThis full-day event is one you don’t want to miss\, and registration is needed to ensure space for all attendees and projects. Please complete registration by Sunday\, March 15th to secure your space for all attendees in your group and to submit any student project descriptions. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:The Pill Collection Drop Box is a program for citizens as a convenient and safe way to dispose of unneeded or unwanted pills from their homes. Proper and safe disposal of pills serves to reduce the possibility of accidental or criminal misuse of these drugs as well as providing a safe alternative to disposing of medications in landfills and/or sewer systems. Keeping medicine out of our landfills and sewers keeps our environment and drinking water safer. \n  \nRestrictions: This program is only for pills. No other form of drugs will be accepted. (No liquids\, gels\, sharps\, syringes or aerosol products.) This program is only for households. Pills from businesses\, health care facilities\, long-term care facilities\, pharmaceutical representatives\, pharmacies\, doctor offices and veterinary clinics will not be accepted. \n  \nLocations \n\nPublic Safety Center (725 N.
