NC Sierra Club Foothills Group
The Foothills Group, one of 14 groups in the North Carolina Chapter, serves the counties of Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin. Founded over 40 years ago, the Foothills group acts locally to carry out the National Sierra Club’s Mission to:
Explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth.
Practice and promote the responsible use of the earth’s ecosystems and resources.
Educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment.
Use lawful means to carry out these objectives at our local, state, and national levels.
Work to bring clean energy solutions to North Carolina and support local and state wide efforts to promote healthy air, water, and enforceable pollution control standards.
